Ensuring Renal Wellness in Children through Pratheeksha

The 'Pratheeksha' project, introduced by the State Health Department, has achieved significant success in ensuring effective treatment through the early detection of serious kidney diseases in children. Many children are receiving timely medical care through comprehensive interventions starting from pregnancy, the coordinated efforts of expert teams, and a robust follow-up care system.

The project's success is rooted in identifying at-risk children through District Early Intervention Centers (DEIC) and referring them to medical colleges, alongside strengthening the Thiruvananthapuram SAT Hospital as the state-level Pediatric Nephrology Hub. Furthermore, the severity of chronic kidney diseases has been reduced through a monitoring system linked to the 'Hridyam' portal and long-term treatment support. The greatest achievement of the 'Pratheeksha' project is its ability to secure a healthy future for numerous children.
