Centre for One Health-Kerala (COH-K)

Mission

  • To pioneer a 'Kerala Model of One Health' that serves as a guiding framework for other states and agencies in developing their own One Health initiatives.

Vision

  • To empower Kerala with a robust One Health framework capable of effectively managing existing, re-emerging, and emerging threats - including zoonotic and plant-related diseases, as well as Anti-Microbial Resistance. We aim to achieve this through enhanced surveillance, predictive capabilities, early detection systems, swift emergency response mechanisms, proactive preventive actions, informed long-term planning, and strategic policy development.

The Centre for One Health - Kerala (COH-K) was established by the Health & Family Welfare Department, Government of Kerala, to lead and manage the state's comprehensive One Health Programme. Our mission is to foster collaboration across sectors to address health challenges at the human-animal-environment interface.
