Patient welfare schemes
The Regional Cancer Centre is committed to provide the best treatment at affordable cost irrespective of the income category in which the person is enrolled. To fulfill this objective, patients registered at RCC who are not able to afford treatment will be allocated to specific schemes through which financial assistance to a major extent will be covered. Other than the government schemes supported by the Government of Kerala and the Central Government, schemes supported by Non-Government agencies are also used to cover treatment expenses. In addition to the treatment support through various schemes, RCC supports patients based on contributions from well-wishers. This include,
Free Food Scheme: Food is supplied free of cost for financially low income patients admitted in wards which include lunch and refreshments.
Free Medicine Bank : It is run on the basis of contributions in the form of money or medicines from individuals or groups. NGOs also take up active role in the functioning of drug bank. First-line and second line chemotherapy drugs, antibiotics, disposables and supportive medicines are issued free of cost for ill affordable patients.
