Kerala COVID Vaccination highlight
" Till now we have provided 13,10,90,000 dosage to the States and Union Territories. On one hand, we have states like Kerala where there is a zero wastage ( of vaccine) and on the other hand, we have several other states where there is still is 8-9% of wastage."
- Rajesh Bhushan

Union Health Secretary.

Address by Dr Srinath Reddy in the closing session of the webinar series " Kerala Health- Making the SDG a reality" on 4th March 2021.

We appreciate cooperation extended by PEOPLE for COVID vaccination.

The Majority of people are registering on the COWIN portal and visiting vaccination sites.

We also appreciate the coordinated actions by the Private Sector hospitals for vaccination.

We look forward to continued support from all elders and priority group of the State and our partners in vaccination.

  Kerala at the bottom !
It sounds unusual but it should be seen in the context.
Council of Science and Industrial Research India has done a pan India surveillance research study and published a paper.
Kerala is having the lowest sero prevalence and lowest mortality. It establishes that People action led to better prevention focus, practices and behaviour.
Testing strategy identified the positives early and brought the positive patients on the treatment track.
Now, with the massive vaccination drive, the susceptible population will get immunization to control spread of infection.
We appeal all above 45 years to come forward for vaccination.
