Inauguration of multi-storeyed building and Cath lab at RCC
The Hon’ble Chief Minister of Kerala, Shri Pinarayi Vijayan, will inaugurate a new multi-storeyed building and a Cath Lab at the Regional Cancer Centre on February 23, 2026.
The new multi-storeyed building will address the Centre’s acute space constraints and enable the establishment of state-of-the-art facilities, including six modern operation theatres, a 10-bedded bone marrow transplantation unit, an eight-bedded radioiodine ward, advanced intensive care units, modern wards for haematological malignancies, and upgraded radiation therapy facilities. These additions will significantly enhance the Centre’s treatment capacity and services.
The Cath Lab, which will also be inaugurated on the same day, is fully operational and is the first of its kind among public cancer institutes in the state. It will offer advanced interventional radiology and treatment facilities for cancer patients, marking a major step forward in cancer care in Kerala.
