Ebola: Guidelines
In view of the Ebola situation in the African countries of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Uganda, and South Sudan, special precautionary guidelines have been issued.
Travellers arriving from Ebola-affected countries such as the Democratic Republic of Congo, Uganda, and South Sudan are required to strictly follow the prescribed guidelines.
Passengers experiencing symptoms such as fever, fatigue, headache, muscle pain, vomiting, diarrhoea, sore throat, or bleeding should report immediately to the health authorities at the airport. Those who have had direct contact with confirmed or suspected Ebola patients must also report to the authorities.
The Health Department has arranged a monitoring system of up to 21 days for travellers arriving from countries identified by the World Health Organization and the Central Government.
The Health Department has informed that screening facilities for passengers arriving at Kerala’s four international airports and two seaports have been strengthened, along with isolation and intensive care facilities for those requiring medical attention.
In accordance with the guidelines issued by the Central Government, the health units at airports and seaports, the State Government’s District Surveillance Units, and Medical Colleges will jointly coordinate the preventive and response activities.
