Kerala’s public health system once again proved its strength in delivering advanced and life-saving care. Doctors at Thalassery General Hospital successfully removed a large 4.5 cm kidney stone from the right kidney of a 72-year-old patient, overcoming several serious health challenges.

The patient was admitted to the hospital with severe abdominal pain. The case was particularly complicated as the patient was also suffering from chronic kidney disease, diabetes mellitus, and electrolyte imbalance. These conditions made the surgery highly risky and required exceptional precision and coordinated medical care.

Rising to the challenge, the medical team led by Dr. Ramesh Babu, Head of the Urology Department, carefully planned and carried out the complex procedure. Doctors Dr. Priya and Dr. Sandhya, along with nurses Naveen and Nithya, played a crucial role in ensuring the success of the surgery.
