Pathanamthitta General Hospital provides advanced stroke treatment to 200 patients
19 December 2025Pathanamthitta General Hospital has provided thrombolysis treatment for stroke to 200 patients. This is the first time a district general hospital has achieved such a milestone.
The treatment is administered using an expensive drug called tissue plasminogen activator. While this treatment costs several lakhs of rupees in private hospitals, it is being provided completely free of cost here. The Neurology Department of Pathanamthitta General Hospital is also equipped with facilities such as EEG and nerve conduction studies. These services are beneficial to patients, including Sabarimala pilgrims.
