New Cath Labs for Three Medical Colleges
19 December 2025Administrative sanction amounting to ₹44.30 crore has been granted for setting up new cath labs at the Government Medical Colleges in Alappuzha, Ernakulam, and Kozhikode. An allocation of ₹14.31 crore has been approved for Alappuzha Medical College, ₹14.99 crore for Ernakulam Medical College, and ₹15 crore for Kozhikode Medical College.
The government is giving high priority to advanced cardiac care. In addition to the major medical colleges in the state, cath labs have already been established in 12 hospitals under the Health Department.
