State Level Projects
The Indian Systems of Medicine (ISM) Department in Kerala runs several projects to promote traditional healthcare practices like Ayurveda, Siddha, and Unani. These projects aim to improve public health by integrating traditional medicine into everyday healthcare. SPORTS AYURVEDA encourages Ayurvedic management for the conditioning of sports persons and managing sports-related injuries. DHRISTI manages refractive errors of school-going children through Ayurveda. Additionally, the department has initiated Universal Health Care (UHC) pilot projects in districts like Malappuram and Palakkad to enhance primary care services . These efforts are part of Kerala's broader strategy to make traditional medicine more accessible and effective for its residents.
