The department offers important services to make sure these medicines are made and sold safely and legally.
Main Services:
Drug License/Loan License: The department gives licenses to make ASU medicines. To get a license, companies must have proper buildings, trained staff, and follow the rules in Schedule T of the Drugs & Cosmetics Act.
GMP Certification: This certificate proves that the company follows good methods in making medicines. It is valid for five years and must be renewed after that.
License Retention: Even though licenses do not expire, companies must send a yearly report saying they still follow the rules. If not, the license may be canceled.
Approval of Drug Testing Labs: Labs that test ASU medicines must get approval from the government. This is valid for three years and needs to be renewed before it ends.
Free Sale and Non-Conviction Certificates: These documents help companies export their products and prove they are legally made and sold.
Advertisement Approvals: Companies must get a special number to run ads for their ASU products. This helps make sure the ads follow the rules.
