The campaign on 'Alppam Sraddha Arogyam Uraappu' through Shaily App
The campaign on ''Alppam Sredha Arogyam Urappu '' is set up by the Department of Health to create a database on the lifestyle diseases in Kerala with the help Shaily app. The shaily App is a mobile application already developed by the Department of Health as part of the e health project to collect the household information regarding the health status of population.
Through the Shaili application, health workers conducting the household survey and recorded the information regarding the life style diseases, risk factors, health complications of population. As part of the campaign lifestyle disease screening has been started in selected panchayats of 140 constituencies of the state. This can be monitored in real-time at health centers, district level and state levels through the dashboard.
As of now 74,628 people were screened by health workers at their homes. Out of these 18,424 people are under the risk factor group for some serious disease and have undergone expert examination. 7,870 people were diagnosed with hypertension, 6,195 people with diabetes and 2,318 people were diagnosed with the disease. About 1,200 were referred for tuberculosis, 1,042 for uterine cancer, 6,039 for breast cancer and 434 for colon cancer. Referred patients and those belonging to risk groups will be tested free of cost at diagnosing centers under the Health Department across the state.
