Patients can now book outpatient (OP) appointments and tokens in advance without standing in long queues, either through the e-Health portal or the m-eHealth mobile app. People can make digital payments, access lab results, prescriptions and treatment records online. The facility to create a permanent 16-digit UHID using Aadhaar-based OTP verification has made the process seamless and patient-friendly. As many as 2.63 crore people have now obtained permanent Unique Health ID (UHID) registration while over 6.73 crore patients have availed treatment through temporary registration and 16.85 lakh have been admitted via the platform.

For follow-up visits, patients can collect advance tokens directly from the hospital. Advance tokens can also be obtained through the eHealth portal (https://ehealth.kerala.gov.in) or via the m-eHealth App (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=in.gov.kerala.ehealth.mhealth), significantly reducing waiting times.

How to Create a Unique Health ID?

To access eHealth services, one must first generate a health identification number. Visit https://ehealth.kerala.gov.in and click on the ‘Register’ link. Enter your Aadhaar number and an OTP will be sent to the linked mobile number. Enter the OTP to generate the online personal health ID which can be downloaded from the portal.

Upon the first login, the 16-digit personal health ID and password will be sent via SMS. These credentials can then be used to book hospital appointments on specified dates and times.

How to Book an Appointment?

Log in using the health ID and password, then click on 'New Appointment'. If it’s a referral, enter the necessary details. Select the hospital and department. Choose an available date and the list of available tokens for that day will appear. Patients can select a token based on their convenience. The token can be printed. Details will also be sent via SMS. Treatment details, lab results and prescriptions can also be accessed via the portal.
