A total of 275 hospitals in the state have now received National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS) accreditation.

Health Minister Veena George announced that 14 more health institutions in Kerala have achieved NQAS accreditation. The newly accredited facilities are:

• Ernakulam Ayyampuzha Family Health Centre – 91.31%
• Thrissur Kaippamangalam Family Health Centre – 97.89%
• Thrissur Kakkad Family Health Centre – 92.46%
• Kasaragod Perla Family Health Centre – 88.89%
• Ernakulam Kheelam Public Health Centre – 81.97%
• Ernakulam Pulluvazhi Public Health Centre – 87.63%
• Thrissur Kattappuram Public Health Centre – 86.31%
• Palakkad Punnapadam Public Health Centre – 82.62%
• Wayanad Athimula Public Health Centre – 84.55%
• Wayanad Kenichira Public Health Centre – 88.78%
• Kannur Kathiroor Public Health Centre – 94.97%
• Kannur Kunduchira Public Health Centre – 94.87%
• Kannur Mullul Public Health Centre – 94.87%

In addition, Punalur Taluk Headquarters Hospital, Kollam received NQAS re-accreditation with a score of 94.44%, along with Lakshya re-accreditation after three years. The hospital’s Operation Theatre for Pregnant Women scored 91%, and its Labour Room scored 96%.

With this, a total of 275 health institutions in Kerala have been accredited under NQAS, including:

• 8 District Hospitals
• 8 Taluk Hospitals
• 14 Community Health Centres
• 47 Urban Family Health Centres
• 169 Family Health Centres
• 29 Public Health Centres

So far, 16 hospitals in the state have received Lakshya certification, including 3 Medical Colleges, 9 District Hospitals, and 4 Taluk Hospitals.

NQAS and Lakshya accreditations are valid for three years. After this period, institutions undergo a re-evaluation by the National Team, along with annual state-level inspections to ensure continued quality compliance.
