Survey to study the impact of Covid on expatriates
The Department of Economic Statistics is conducting a survey on the economic and social impact of Covid on expatriates. The main objectives of the survey are, to evaluate the effectiveness of the government's efforts to address the challenges faced by expatriates, find information about the socio-economic status of returnees who have lost their jobs due to Covid, prepare employment opportunities in the state for returnees, formulate statistics that will help in the preparation of resettlement package, understand educational qualification, abroad work experience and social background of expatriates, understand the entrepreneurship activities of the expatriates in the micro, small and medium industries, and understand the other problems faced and the tastes of expats. Apart from this, the figures of those who went abroad for work and education are also collected as part of this. The sample survey will be conducted from December 1 to February 15, 2023, in 800 selected units.
