SAT's Success in Infertility Treatment with Over 500 Babies Born Through IVF

Thiruvananthapuram's Sree Avittam Thirunal Hospital (SAT) stands as a model for the nation in the field of advanced infertility treatment. The hospital's reproductive medicine department has made a historic achievement on Kerala's healthcare sector with its IVF (In Vitro Fertilization) treatment system.Nearly 500 babies have been born through IVF treatment at SAT Hospital. Many childless couples from both within and outside Kerala seek treatment at SAT Hospital. The hospital's mission is to offer affordable, effective treatment to couples facing infertility due to various reasons.

SAT Hospital is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities for infertility treatment, including hormone therapy, surgery, and assisted reproductive technologies (ART) such as IVF and Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI). The hospital has successfully increased the success rate of IVF treatment to 40-50%, a remarkable achievement that matches global success rates.The Reproductive Medicine Department at Sree Avittam Thirunal Hospital is India’s first state-run IVF center. Established in 2012, this center has been at the forefront of infertility treatment.

The hospital is equipped with cutting-edge facilities, including hysteroscopy, an incubator, IVF theatre, laparoscopy theatre, IVF lab for tests, andrology lab, and a cryogenic system to store eggs, sperm, and embryos for cancer patients before undergoing chemotherapy or radiation.In addition, a fertility preservation program has recently been launched to preserve eggs for individuals suffering from cancer or other diseases. The Reproductive Medicine Department offers outpatient services from Monday to Saturday. Couples are required to attend together for treatment, which is provided with comprehensive care, including counselling and adherence to all established standards.
